  1. What is YikeSite?

    YikeSite is software that you use to edit your website. You don't need to install anything because everything happens in your web browser. Your website is hosted for you and you pay monthly for the service. When YikeSite gets an update, you get the update too. Use the free service and get an address like http://mycoolsite.yikesite.com. Use the pay service and you can use your own domain name.

  2. How much does YikeSite cost? Can I use it for free?

    We do have a free plan but if you want to do things like use your own domain name or upload more files then you'll need to upgrade to a pay plan. Plans are $12, $24 or $45 per month.

  3. Can I use my own domain name?

    Absolutely. Most domain name registrars will allow you to point your domain name at our server. What you need to do is make a CNAME for your domain name to app.yikesite.com. Check out our forum for a list of registrars that can do this.

  4. Which browsers do you support?

    Any website created with YikeSite can output designs that work well in any browser. The extent of which browsers/platforms you support depends on how well you (or your web designer) sets up the CSS/HTML. The default template we provide is tested in the major browsers.

    The admin and edit features of YikeSite have restrictions on which browsers you can use. We recommend Firefox 2.0 (Mac or PC). It's free and works great. You may also use Internet Explorer 7.0 - but really, go with Firefox. We are also working on Safari support.

  5. Do you offer e-mail hosting?

    Not at this time. There are a good handful of domain name registrars that will not only let you point your domain name at us (see above) but will also host your e-mail for cheap. Check out our forum for a list of e-mail providers and tips on how to set this up.

  6. I know how to use photoshop but I'm not a programmer. How do I get my design set up in YikeSite?

    XHTMLizedWe highly recommend you check out the great people over at XHTMLized. All you need to do is hand them a graphic file and they will take your design and integrate it with the YikeSite theme api. No HTML knowledge necessary.

  7. Is there a free trial?

    Yes, each account comes with a free 30 day trial. Just make sure you give us your credit card information before the 30 days is up to ensure that you don't have disruption in service.

  8. Can I install YikeSite on my own server?

    No, YikeSite is only available as a hosted service.

  9. What happens if I need more storage space?

    You can upgrade your account at any time. If you are already on the largest plan, please contact us and we'll hook you up.

  10. Which currency do you bill in?

    We currently bill in USD.

  11. What name should I look for on my credit card statement?

    "Animikii Inc."

  12. Are there any long-term contracts or sign-up fees?

    All of our plans are month-to-month. There are no sign-up fees.

  13. Can I cancel my account at any time?

    Yes. There are no cancellation fees to worry about either.
