What is YikeSite?

YikeSite is a hosted content management system (CMS) that Website Designers, Developers & Producers can brand to their own company and market the service as their own.

What is hosted software?

YikeSite is software that you don't need to install on your own server because we provide the software and technical infrastructure to power your customers' websites. YikeSite is web-based software which means that everything happens in your web browser. When YikeSite gets an update, your customers get the update too so there is no need to run software updates locally and your customers always have the latest and greatest.

 

Who provides support to my customers?

You do. YikeSite is a white-label service which means that your customers won't be contacted by us for any reason.

 

Who will bill my customers?

You bill your own customers in the way you normally would — cheque, credit, cash... or possibly as apart of a bundled project/service you provide to your customers.

 

How am I charged for my customer accounts?

We bill you monthly via credit card in a lump-sum based on your reseller pricing for each paying customer you have under your CMS.

Can I use my own wildcard domain name?
Absolutely. When you first signup as a reseller you get a YOURCMS.yikesite.com domain name however you also get an unbranded domain name like YOURCMS.customerhost.com which you can use temporarily until you point your domain name.

If you don't have a wildcard domain name pointed, your customers will get a URL like CUSTOMER.clientwebsite.net. When you point your domain name, they will signup to CUSTOMER.<your-domain-name>.

Most domain name registrars will allow you to point a wildcard domain name at our server. What you need to do is make a CNAME for your * wildcard to app.yikesite.com or an A record to 208.78.96.162. Some registrars will charge you additional to do this but registrars like GoDaddy will do this for free.
Do you offer domain name registration?
No, but our good friends IWantMyName do! Not only that, they make it super simple for the sites you host to point their domain name at YikeSite with a one-click setup. IWantMyName is the officially recommended domain name registrar of YikeSite :) And you can register domain names in 90+ extensions.


Which browsers do you support?
Any website created with YikeSite can output designs that work well in any browser. The extent of which browsers/platforms you support depends on how well you set up the CSS/HTML. The default template we provide is tested in the major browsers.

The admin and edit features of YikeSite have restrictions on which browsers you can use. We recommend Firefox, Chrome or Safari (Mac or PC). They're free and work great.
Do you offer e-mail hosting?
Not at this time. There are a good handful of domain name registrars that will not only let you point your domain name at us (see above) but will also host your e-mail for cheap.
I know how to use photoshop but I'm not a programmer.
How do I get my design set up in YikeSite?
YikeSite is a service aimed at Web developers and designers and as such requires basic knowledge of HTML/CSS to edit templates. That being said, we highly recommend you check out the great people over at XHTMLized. All you need to do is hand them a graphic file and they will take your design and integrate it with the YikeSite theme api.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, each new reseller account comes with a free 30 day trial so that you can try out all of the reseller functionality. Just make sure you give us your credit card information before the 30 days is up to ensure that you don't have disruption in service (or your customers).
Can I install YikeSite on my own server?
No, YikeSite is only available as a hosted service.
Which currency do you bill in?
We currently bill in USD.
What name should I look for on my credit card statement?
"YikeSite.com"
Are there any long-term contracts or sign-up fees?
All of our plans are month-to-month. There are no sign-up fees.
Can I cancel my account at any time?
Yes. There are no cancellation fees to worry about either.
Who is behind this YikeSite thing?
